The Consorcio's insurance activity in direct insurance is similar to that carried out by any insurance entity, where they charge a premium and issue a policy in the following cases:
Private individuals' vehicles
Contracting of mandatory civil liability cover deriving from the use and driving of motorised vehicles in those cases where an application for insurance has not been accepted or has been rejected by two insurance entities, unless such risk were to be accepted by another or other insurance company or companies at the request of the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros. (Contracting by the Consorcio of Vehicle Third Party Liability Cover)
Official vehicles
Contracting the cover for the obligations deriving from civil liability for occurrences in traffic involving vehicles from the `Community of Official Vehicles' (State-owned vehicles, and those owned by Autonomous Communities/Regions, Local Corporations and Public Organisms that are attached to any of these), when a request is made for the Consorcio to provide such cover. In this event the Consorcio may assume responsibility for the third party liability cover for motorised vehicles which exceed the limits established by the mandatory insurance (Contracting by the Consorcio of Third Party Motor Liability for Public Organisms' vehicles)
